Okay...I'm totally feeling a vibe for this one -- Why you might ask? Bc I just read it's only books published on or after May 15, 2013 in the point Chris made...

And since my bday IS (ok, was) on May 15 -- I have to take this as a sign!

Hopefully, it's not a low hanging sign where I could bump into it, fall unconscious to the ground, and then get run over by a 'Scholastic Book Fair' truck. That would be so very wrong...so very, very wrong!

I agree a great blurb is essential as you need to attract readers to your book initially, in order to increase your sales.
Thanks for offering us the incentive to hone our editing skills on one of the key parts of our books.

o.e I don't know, I think the first one might mean that the past will never come back, the seconds... dumbfounded me. Three... some twisted stalker quote? That's all I can get from them haha

The first is to be taken by surprise.

The second means.. Depending on the context, it has to do with Alice in Wonderland....Remember the Maxtrix and the rabbit tattoo. Metaphors that signify an invitation to step out of ordinary time.

The third .. Again depends on the context ...is the Reaper.

Thanks, guys. Sounds reasonable to me. Stephen, I read these phrases from an old letter a friend wrote years ago. I just ran across it recently.

In that case I'll agree with Glynis on all accounts, although the rabbit might have different significance according to specific cultures.

Very good questions. What a thought-pondering situation! This would make a great book, wouldn't it? Anyone want to take on the project? Lol!

Anyway, I recently watched a Lifetime movie where a woman was in a similar situation. Her daughter was dying and she needed a cure. She was on a waiting list for a trial run of a new medicine. But she wasn't selected. So, her mother took the doctor and some nurses hostage. She demanded the medicine be administered, to save her daughter's life.

Why are there no entries yet?

I think since we have until June to post our entries, many are still writing them and editing their stories.
I'm writing a story for the contest, but I still have 4/5 chapters for it to be finished. And after that, there's the editing part, which I need to do for my first 8 chapters.
So, I'm assuming, many are like me still writing it.

Hi Luckyscar, as you only get one shot (chance to enter) it is imperative that you polish your story until it glows.
However, I would aim at submitting your story by the beginning of June. This will allow for difficulties uploading your book & formatting issues.
