I want to tell everyone that I have read your submissions carefully, and with my most "un-jaundiced" eye. I intend to re-read again as we have a few days to make our decision. The best story? Gosh. This will be a difficult one for me. So many of you submitted great stories! But as I can cast only one vote, I promise to take all the rules into account, keep AGE as a factor, look for ingenuity in plot, beauty (or horror) of language, scrutinize all the rules of grammar that I know...and then click that button after very careful deliberation.
Again, there were so many excellent pieces, and I congratulate everyone for working so hard. I'm proud to be among you

I can't cast my vote without listing my favorites first,
Dream Robber, Rape of Innocence, Graffiti, etc. but my vote goes to...
Midnight Visions - Nightmares/dreams are disjointed and don't make much sense, but as a reader you like some semblance of order and he did this by building a short story around the nightmare. Good job! Best of luck to you!

My choice
There were many excellent submissions, but my favorite is RUNNING MAN by Brian Doswell. I was literally out of breath at the end of the story...totally drawn into his nightmare, which could very well have happened! All the best to everyone and well done!
