Alex burrows herself in neglect and packed lunches as she flows herself through the last year of middle school.
Throughout her time of thinking, she comes up with a bucket list of things she wants to do, and one of them involves having a boyfriend.
Even though she's the normal kind of kid, she still somehow seems to bloom in on the cliff's edge at a regular life.
And her parents, away most of the time since, leaves just Alex and her aunt.
But then everything shifts as she finally realizes her bucket list is coming to life.
From there stuff keeps getting better but also worse.
After her recovery, she's in full swing back to school, but it seems harder to adjust when her parents return home suddenly.
