OUT THE WINDOW
Looking out the window is over-rated.
The sky with the treetops,
The clouds, maybe raindrops,
Though beautiful, they are tainted.
Pollution has raped and faded
What used to be new and bright -
I can't even see stars at night.
This is our night -
Why do we fight?
How do you
About the current plight?
Should we keep going on?
Should we try to push through?
Or is the only thing in our life...
IT IS WHAT IT IS
Life is given, then taken away,
Some sooner than later -
What can I say?
I see you there by the path;
My heart pounds as I walked past,
Confusion within, clumsy without,
Humbling, stumbling, no words for my mouth.
I look up and smile and in returnm
You smile back and my stomach churns.
How can this be? Is this fate?
Love at fist sight has been thrown on my plate.
