The Elephant & The Flea

Oh! How small you are said the elephant to the flea.

What makes you think you have a right, to hitch a ride on me?

Why complain said the flea, you’re so big and wide.

You shouldn’t notice me at all as I take a ride.

But yes I do, said the elephant in obstinate dismay.

The hide on which you walk upon, is not a mound of clay.

I feel you as you walk about, my person through the day.

I’m just a flea that’s what I do, can you not really see?

That on the ground is far to go, it takes too long for me.

I guess you’re right, said the elephant, it’s not you that bothers me.

But your million guest and family who always stop for tea!

Ode to My Hair

The lovely
