His most famous work, Les Fleurs du mal (The Flowers of Evil), expresses the changing nature of beauty in modern, industrializing Paris during the 19th century. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Kunst, Fotografie und Film Der französische Dichter und Kunsttheoretiker Charles Baudelaire (1821 – 1896), der die moderne Literatur vor allem aufgrund seiner Lyrik mit seinem berühmten Hauptwerk „Die Blumen des Bösen“ wie kein anderer prägte, hat ebenso die Kunstszene in Frankreich in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts durch zahlreiche kunsttheoretischen Beiträge maßgeblich beeinflusst und die zentrale Entwicklungsphase des damals neuen Mediums Fotografie in seinem Land als Zeitzeuge miterlebt. Zu diesem Anlass publizierte Baudelaire im Jahre 1859, also in einer Zeit, in der sich die Fotografie in der Gesellschaft massenhaft verbreitete und langsam fest etablierte, in seiner Salonkritik den berühmten Aufsatz „Die Fotografie und das moderne Publikum“. Dieser Aufsatz zählt zu den ersten kunsttheoretischen Schriften überhaupt, welcher sich mit der Entwicklung der Fotografie kritisch auseinandersetzt und dabei vor allem den schädlichen Einfluss der Fotografie auf die bildende Kunst und die damalige Gesellschaft thematisiert. Doch was hatte Baudelaire an der Fotografie auszusetzen? Worin sah er den Schaden, den die Fotografie der Kunst zufügt? Welche Aufgaben und Kritierien sollte ein Künstler nach Baudelaire auf der Leinwand erfüllen? Mit diesen Fragen setzt sich diese Studienarbeit genauer auseinander. [more]
